An Invitation from Losang to Join our FPMT Study/Practice Group
Invitation from Venerable Losang Samten to join sangha-wide Dharma Practice/Study group (Refuge in the Three Jewels)
Dear Sangha & Friends,
During this past three years, our Discovering Buddhism group by telephone conference, has been a beautiful experience. The subject of practice/study for the next five months is Samsara and Nirvana. We are all living in samsara, which means cyclic existence. As human beings, we all journey through the stages of birth, aging, illness, and death. In this session, we will explore the nature of the suffering and afflictions that we all experience in our lives and learn how we can work to become free of them. The potential lies within each one of us to realize the “Buddha within.” We have a great opportunity with this module. I encourage you to join us beginning on Wed. October 26 at 7:30pm eastern time when we begin this study.
We will practice the meditations at home, individually. This is so important. We will meet by telephone conference every three weeks to discuss: the readings, our practice experience & any questions. I look forward to meeting with you by telephone conference.
This is a wonderful way to study through the use of 21st-century technology. Because of this, our different sanghas have a chance to study together. There are people in the practice/study group from Canada, California, Nevada, Delaware, and Pennsylvania! Hopefully some day, we will all be physically in one location & practice together, but meanwhile this is a wonderful way for us to practice and study with each other!
Buddha dharma is not just magic. It requires a depth of study in order to bear fruit, so this study together is very important. I hope & pray that more study of Buddha dharma will make for less of the three poisons - less anger, less greed & less ignorance. In this way, suffering is overcome.
So again, thank you for your interest. I invite you to contact Wendy (wendy.a.mackin@gmail.com) to ask questions on how to get involved with our continent-wide Practice/Study group.
Lots of love,
Losang
