From the "May all sentient beings" and "Interdependence" Desks of your TBC Weblog

From the "May all mother sentient beings" and "Interdependence" desks of your TBC weblog, come this somewhat different type of offering for this page.  What do we visualize, what do we think of, when we contemplate these words (in the human realm, at least)?  The New York Times recently invited readers from around the world (of their photography blog, called "Lens"), to take one photograph of their world, all at the same moment in time (15:00 U.T.C., Sunday, May 2), for publication. In their words: "Here it is: Earth, covered by stacks of thousands of virtual photographs, corresponding in location to where they were taken by Lens readers at one “Moment in Time”.  Spin the virtual globe, and view images of that part of the world."  (And then, as they also suggest, "make no plans for the rest of the day.")  To have a look click here.  The results, the contrasts, and the similarities, from country to country, region to region, are breathtaking, and illuminating.
