About the Event

An Evening of Metta - Wednesday July 15, 7pm-8:30pm

“If you want others to be happy, practice loving-kindness and compassion; if you want yourself to be happy, practice loving-kindness and compassion.” -His Holiness The Dalai Lama

Please join Bill Stauffer and Sue Passante as your hosts for another Evening of Metta – a special practice that sends loving-kindness and compassion to all beings.  As Lama Losang described in his recent letter to the Sangha, suffering is seen and felt throughout the world at this time.  Recent events have thrust into our collective consciousness the widespread human suffering from social injustice, racism, hatred and violence; suffering from covid-19, illness and disease, from poverty, unemployment, homelessness, lack of adequate medical care and food insecurity.   And, untold numbers of people are grieving the loss of their loved ones from these tragic conditions.

From the Buddhist perspective, all living beings are precious.  This Evening of Metta will once again allow us to come together to send prayers of loving-kindness and compassion to all living beings – especially all who are suffering from these conditions at this time.  Special dedications will be honored as requested during the practice.  We hope you can join us!

May all beings have happiness and the causes of happiness!

May all beings be free from suffering and the causes of suffering!
