We will alternate between Qi Gong & Yoga. May 17 will be yoga led by Vimukti.
Join us for this 50-minute session that will stretch the muscles and detox organs and systems in the body followed by a brief deep relaxation (yoga nidra) and breath awareness practice to prepare us for meditation. Find your easeful body and peaceful mind with hatha yoga (Ha-Sun Tha-Moon), balancing your outward facing energy with your softer reflective energy. Beginners and advanced practitioners welcomed!
There is usually a small amount of stiffness in the beginning, especially since we are spending so much more time at home. Allow your body to be your teacher. Active pain is a sign to ease up on a posture.
What you’ll need:
Please have a yoga mat, and props if you own them. Or, a rolled bath towel, a rolled hand towel and a folded washcloth. Cushions can be used in place of a bolster (pictured above) for the knees and for sitting. Comfortable, loose clothing. If getting to the floor is not an option, we can adjust your practice to a chair.
Vimukti Aslan, a CTBC member for 10 years, is a certified yoga therapist, beginner-advanced hatha, pranayama, meditation instructor in the Integral Yoga lineage, certified in Gentle, Restorative, Stress Management, and Raja Yoga modalities.
