On Wednesday December 25 at 6pm please join Lama Losang Samten for a traditional tsok marking Lama Tsongkhapa’s Parinirvana. If you can, please bring an offering such as cookies, cake, or fruits. All are welcome! Join in-person at the center or via Zoom (link below).
Je Tsongkhapa was one of the great meditators and scholars. He was the founder of the Gelug lineage. Tsongkhapa was born in 1357 in the Amdo region of eastern Tibet and he died in 1419 at the Ganden Monastery near Lhasa. Since his death and on the day of his parinirvana, the people of entire Tibet, Mongolia, and many Himalayan region, remember Tsongkhapa's legacy, known as Ganden Ngamchoe. Every year on this day, many butter lamps are lit and tsok pujas are held. It is a very important day in Tibet. This year, his parinirvana falls on December 25th. If you are interested to learn…
