About the Event
THE FOUR BUDDHIST PATHS TO HAPPINESS AND WELL-BEING
Shakyamuni Buddha, the Awakened One, is called “the great physician” because he found a treatment for the fundamental problem of life: that we inevitably experience suffering and can find no lasting happiness. His diagnosis of the cause of this suffering, and his prescription for ending it, is the spiritual path of Buddhism. In this course, you’ll be given an introduction to the majestic and profound philosophy and practices of Buddhism, through which you can completely transform your experience of yourself and of your life. You will be introduced to the four great paths of Buddhism that offer the means to achieve lasting wisdom, happiness and well-being. The four paths appeal to different people’s temperaments, needs, interests and abilities. You will learn a number of useful insights into your own psychology, and will be taught methods to be wiser, calmer, happier and more loving towards yourself and others.
This is an online course, using the program Zoom. Zoom is easy to download and to use, and course participants will be given full instructions. The course takes place over four consecutive weekends. Participants are urged to commit to all four classes.
