Sunday March 17 topic with Bill Stauffer:
Some Buddhists masters say there is nothing to do – we simply need to stop clinging. Consider these lines from a vajra song by Gendun Rinpoche:
“Happiness cannot be found through great effort and willpower, but is already present, in open relaxation and letting go. Don't strain yourself, there is nothing to do or undo“
Other Buddhist masters say there is much to do. In Zen they say: “Before enlightenment chop the wood and carry the water, but after enlightenment chop the wood and carry the water.”
Can they both be right? Let’s explore this on Sunday.
