Dharma Topic for July 9:

the heart is the journey

when you're elated or in awe--

when you receive devastating news--

when you find yourself dizzied by life, not sure what direction to take--

your hand naturally reaches not for the heart, but the heart space.

this is a critical distinction. the heart is a physical/material organ. it rests just left of center in your chest. and yes, it does wondrous things.

but in times of awe and gratitude, in times of transition or challenge, we reach not for the heart, but the heart space -- which resides in the center of our chest -- that place wherein the most essential aspect of our being resides. attuned with the heart space, we find connection, joy, gratitude and guidance.

join me sunday july 9th for this special sunday morning sangha at Chenrezig Tibetan Buddhist Center, in which I'll share perspectives of the potential found in connecting with the heart space, and lead a guided meditation for inviting personal and collective healing.
